The cladding for a building facade has a number of cladding plates (1,1a-1d), with mountings between their parallel and facing edges (3,4). Each mounting point is defined by holding block (2) on a carrier mounted to the building wall. Each holding block is composed of a number of plates, and pockets to hold the edge sections of the facade plates. The facade plates are fitted at different planes into the holding blocks, so that the plate edges overlap on the path length to the next holding block.
