Fibroin peptides having a molecular weight of 3500 or more and a molecular weight mode falling within the range of from 6000 to 15000, wherein, for example, part of the functional groups ( alpha ) in amino acids thereof have been condensed with a bifunctional compounds ( beta ) carrying a carbon-carbon unsaturated group or a carboxyl group and having from 2 to 13 (preferably from 2 to 10) carbon atoms. These peptides are usable as medicinal base materials such as biological sealants and adhesion inhibitors.
