<p>An anti-theft device for securing a lap top computer to a support member, the device having a rigid securing member. The rigid securing member (220) has a back (222), side (224, 226) and front (228, 230) restraining members defining an opening dimensioned to slidably receive a monitor (16) of the lap top computer therethrough when the computer is in the open position. The device further includes a locking assembly (234) having a first part (238) rigidly coupled to the securing member and a second part which can be anchored to the support member, the first and second parts being movable together into a securing position to clamp the lap top computer to the support member, and apart into a release position to allow the lap top computer to be removed.</p> |
