METHOD FOR ESTIMATING SWELLING PROPERTY OF COAL

PURPOSE: A method for estimating swelling property of coal is provided to suppress swelling pressure during the dry distillation of cokes by estimating a swelling property at the state where the coal is pressed. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of producing a structure by pressing the finely crushed coal at normal temperature; a second step of raising the temperature at constant speed of 5 deg.C/minute under an inactive atmosphere and performing a heat treatment for a predetermined time period at the temperature of 500 to 900 deg.C; and a third step of estimating a swelling property of the coal from the change of swelling index of the structure.
