<p>A non-inflammable compsn. comprises an elastomer e.g. chosen from natural rubber, chloroprene rubber, PVC etc., and a combustion inhibiting inorganic cpd. e.g., boric acid or its Na, NH4 or Zn salts, Sb2O3, ammonium phosphates etc. The compsn. may be used to protect synthetic fibres, the insides of houses, ceilings, etc., and can also be used in the prepn. of safety envelopes which are for use in cars to protect the passengers etc. from injury in a road crash.</p> |
