The invention concerns a method for plasma sterilisation at room temperature in the presence of moisture, derived from a non-biocidal gas containing oxygen and nitrogen (10), of at least a longitudinal object (18) comprising at least a through channel (20) and placed outside the plasma discharge in a sealed treatment chamber (16) subjected to atmospheric pressure, the exit of the sterilising gas from the chamber being necessarily carried out across said through channel, so as to ensure a constant sterilising gas flow in the chamber in the chamber and across the through channel.
