Localized fluid coating indents treated surface at edges to specified depth and diameter and spacing to guard against fluid flowing over rim in liquid glue applications.
摘要
Before the fluid is applied, the surface being treated (10) is ringed by microscopic indentations (11) so sized and arranged as to prevent the fluid flowing over the edges of the body surface (15). The indentations present channels and/or troughs and should be sharp-edged and can be produced by lasering, spark erosion, forming or electrochemically. The indentations should be 1-20 micron wide or in diameter, with depth 1-10 micron and set at spacing of 5-40 micron. Particular use is for coating surfaces with liquid glue.
