PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method for driving the same are provided to control equally sizes of discharge cells and improve luminance and efficiency by using a data electrode in a sustain discharge process. CONSTITUTION: A reset period is equivalent to an address period. A sustain discharge period is controlled according to a bias condition of a data electrode. The data electrode is used for selecting a plurality of discharge cells. The discharge cells are formed by arranging red cells, green cells, and blue cells on a lower substrate. A blue data electrode(46B) is in a floating state in the sustain discharge period. Floating voltage, ground voltage, and zero voltage are selected by a green data electrode(46G) and a red data electrode(46R). The floating voltage is applied to the data electrode. A switch portion is used for switching the floating voltage, the ground voltage, and the zero voltage. |
