The forming machine comprises a frame (1) extending longitudinally on either side of a tool (3). This tool (3) is arranged transversally to the central portion of the frame (1). Jaws (12), arranged on either side of the tool, are each actuated by two pairs of quasi-horizontal jacks (13) and quasi-vertical jacks (14). Each jaw (12) comprises a point (12) which is mobile in a vertical longitudinal plane, and this point (32) is held in such plane by means of one of the control jacks of said jaw and especially a vertical jack (14). This guiding jack (14) comprises pads (26) arranged on the upper end of its roll (22) and these pads slide on longitudinal vertical plates (29) integral with the frame (1). The cradle (15) of the jaw (12) is hinged on the end of the rod of the guiding jack (14B) by means of an axis (31) which is perpendicular to the axis (33) of said jack (14) and whereof the axis is situated in the guiding plane.
