<p>Esters of title cpds. are gestagens and ovulation inhibitors. The esters are derived from (1-15C) aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic, araliphatic, heterocyclic, or inorganic acids, opt. unsatd. and opt. substd. acetyl, heptanoyl and dodecanoyl esters are prefd. The esters are prepd. e.g. by esterifying the parent cpd. with the acid chloride or anhydride in presence of either a strong acid or a heated base.</p> |
