<p>Cpds. of formula (I) : and non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable salts (where X and Y are same of different F, Cl, Br or I; Z is alkoxy (max. 7C), alkylthio (max. 5C), dialkylamino (max. 5C) or alkylideneamino (max. 5C in ring). Most prefd. cpds. (I) have X and Y = Cl or Br; Z = alkoxy (max. 7C), methylthio or dimethylamino. (I) have immuno-suppressive activity and may be used against e.g. arthritis, multiple sclerosis, nephritis, sympathic opththalmitis, auto-immune haemolytic anaemia or lupus erythematosus. It inhibits rejection of transplanted body-parts. Prepn. by reacting anthranilic acid or its salts with a cpd. of general formula (II) : in inert solvent at below 50 degrees C.</p> |
