PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collagen production promoter, a functional food, a pharmaceutical preparation, a growth promoter for osteoblast or fibroblast, an agent for strengthening or improving the density of bone, a biomedical tissue metabolism promoter, a skin activating agent, a prophylactic or ameliorating agent for the hypofunction of the skin or bone due to aging, a prophylactic or ameliorating agent for osteoporosis, an ameliorating agent for chronic articular rheumatism or osteoarthritis and a promoter for curing fracture or wound, each quickly digestible and absorbable efficiently even in small amounts of its intake. SOLUTION: This collagen production promoter and the other agents mentioned above each comprises a collagen peptide obtained by splitting a collagen component or gelatin component by the use of a collagenase enzyme and contains >=10 wt.% of tripeptide with an amino acid sequence of Gly-X-Y. |
