摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display and a substrate superposition device capable of sealing a liquid crystal composition in a short time and minimizing the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display, a sealing compound is applied on a substrate 400M on one side in the form of a loop then the liquid crystal composition is dropped in the loop on which the sealing compound is applied. In addition, the substrate 400M on one side is superposed upon a substrate 600M on the other in the vacuous state then an atmospheric pressure is applied through release into the atmosphere and a gap between a pair of the substrates is pressurized until a predetermined interval is provided then the sealing compound is cured and bonded. In the substrate superposition process, the principal plane of the substrate 600M on the other is bonded and kept by means of a retaining pad 702 provided with a tacky holding agent 704 then the substrate 400M on one side is superposed thereupon.
