PURPOSE: A process of preparing a plate-type rubber band is provided by making a narrow rectangular rubber plate using a press machine or punching machine, forming a cutting part at the longitudinal center of the rubber plate and then making a hole for preventing tearing and a connecting part on both sides of the cutting part. Whereby, a rubber band with a size and shape to fit a special use is mass-produced and the manufacturing cost is remarkably reduced. CONSTITUTION: A plate-type rubber plate having excellent toughness and elasticity is pressed or punched to form a cutting part(6) at the longitudinal center of a rubber plate body(4,4a) and a hole(12,14) for preventing tearing and a connecting part(8,10) are formed on both sides of the cutting part. The rubber plate body and cutting part are of flat shape.
