PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp unit, a projector, a fixing method for a light source lamp and a reflector, and an assembling method for the lamp unit which make it easy to improve the precision of the reflector and can support the light source lamp in an excellent state. SOLUTION: The lamp unit 10 has the light source lamp 11 and reflector fixed to a lamp housing 13 independently of each other. It is not necessary to form a fitting part for fixing and fixing the light source lamp 11 to the reflector 12 being an optical component and the shape of the reflector 12 is made simple to improve the precision of a reflecting surface 121 (specially, the bottom part of the reflecting surface 121), thereby increasing the illuminance of the lamp unit 10.
