PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic material with a treated surface showing superb corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: This metallic material with a treated surface showing superb corrosion resistance has a rust-resisting coat layer, formed on the surface, which contains Si, a Si compound and one kind or two or more kinds of chemical compounds, as a corrosion inhibitor, which have a solubility of 10<-4> mol/l or more in the pH 11 to 13 range of a pH-potential equilibrium diagram and can be stably present as an oxide ion or a hydroxide ion.
