摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the collapse of a cavity formed in a layer of raw materials for sintering, to accelerate the movement of water vapor into a lower layer part by downward suction in the cavity part filled with granulated matter, and to maintain the air permeability of the layer of raw materials for sintering in a superior state with stability over the entire period of sintering. SOLUTION: A trapezoidal plate-like body 22 having underside width larger than topside width and attached to the end part of a cylindrical body 11 via a hollow connecting body 25 is inserted into the middle-layer part/lower-layer part of the layer 7 of raw materials for sintering formed on bed ores 2 laid on a floor 23 of a pallet 1 of a sintering machine, by which a plurality of cavities 9 each having underside width larger than topside width are formed in a manner to be apart from each other in a pallet-width direction. The granulated matter 13 prepared separately from the raw materials for sintering and having large grain size is charged into the cavities 9 via the cylindrical body 11, by which the collapse of the cavities can be prevented and also the downward movement of the generated water vapor can be accelerated and, as the result, the air permeability of the layer 7 of raw materials for sintering can be improved.
