PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire takeup device of automatic winding type in safety at a low cost, whereby it is possible to certainly remove the wound wire from the winding and collect the wire removed from a bail safely and efficiently. SOLUTION: A takeup roller 3 is rotated after the end of the wire 50 cut and separated from the periphery of the bail is inserted to a notch 3a formed in the roller 3, and thereby the wire 50 is taken up and put approximately in a coil shape finally, whereas the operation to put the wire removed from the periphery of the bail neatly is facilitated, and thus it is possible to enhance the working efficiency, decrease greatly the opportunity to handle the wire 50 thick and stiff by hand directly, reduce the labor of the operator, and heightens the safety.
