PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing unit in which image quality is improved by suppressing the vibration of a light source. SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser beam source device 101 is fixed onto a housing 111 with a first screw 120 for fixing a light source device, and then is directly fixed onto an optical bench 119 with a second screw 121 for fixing the light source device which passes through a housing bottom. The semiconductor laser beam source device 101 can directly be joined to the optical bench 119 even when the housing for attaching the semiconductor laser beam source device 101 vibrates by vibration produced during the rotation of a polygon motor, thereby the vibration of the light source is suppressed and the image quality can be improved. Since the semiconductor laser beam source device 101 is screwed onto the housing 111 with the first screw 120 for fixing the light source device, the semiconductor laser beam source device 101 is fixed to the housing 111 even when the second screw 121 for fixing the light source device is removed, thereby the replacement or the maintenance of the optical writing unit is facilitated.
