<p>The circuit breaker has a movable contact piece in open air which makes a connection between a fixed counter contact and a sliding contact. The moving contact is surrounded by a movable insulating tube. A fixed insulating tube is connected to the sliding contact. A metallic body (15) with a large surface area is attached to the sliding contact (5). It has a large radius of curvature on its outer surface and projected beyond the edge of the moving contact (7) on the side facing the fixed contact (3). It is intended to increase the surge voltage resistance of the switching contacts.</p> |
