PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an inexpensive printer system without impairing the color reproducibility of a print image. SOLUTION: From original data 601, image data 602 which is a rendering of character data, mask data 603 for a character, and image data 605 to be compounded with a character are generated. They are generated in a host computer, and transmitted to the printer. Then, an image 606 which is made up by eliminating color in the portion to be compounded with a character image through masking the image data 605 with the mask data 603 is generated, and further a logical sum of this data and the character image 602 is calculated and the image 607 is reproduced. |
