PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring gear noises in which environmental factors to gear noise can be stratified into a gear-related section and the other section. SOLUTION: Fundamentally, the unevenness of velocity of a gear and the sound pressure of the gear noise are simultaneously measured. When the sound signal and the signal of the unevenness of the velocity are each converted into the analyzed waveforms D, F of rotational number degree ratios and further these two waveforms are synchronized at the same point, the transformed shapes of the two waveforms are compared and the environmental factors to the gear noise are stratified into the factors of the gear and the other factors according to the similarity or unsimilarity of the shapes of the two waveforms of rotational number degree ratios in each frequency area.
