PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy for anodizing superior in strength and gas corrosion resistance under a high-temperature heat cycle and corrosive atmosphere, and an aluminum alloy material superior in gas corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy for anodizing comprises at least one kind of 0.2-1.0 wt.% Si and 2.3-5.0 wt.% Mg, impurities Fe, Cu, Mn, Cr, Zn, and Ni, of which content is individually controlled to be 0.1 wt.% or less, and the balance Al with other impurities. The aluminum alloy material superior in the gas corrosion resistance has an anodic oxide coating formed on the surface of the alloy material with the above composition.
