PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device for film defects of a turbine blade easily, accurately detecting the defects of a film covering the blade surface and provide a method therefor. SOLUTION: This inspection device for film defects of the turbine blade is equipped with a film defect inspecting monitoring part 7 placed on a rotating table 6 rotatably supported to a mounting 5, freely movable in front and in rear and aslant on each axis of an X axis, a Y axis, and a Z axis to the turbine blade 1 installed in a turbine shaft 2; a controller 8 controlling the movement in front and in rear and slanting movement of the film defect inspecting monitoring part 7; and an infrared image signal processing part 9 imaging the temperature distribution of the film 3 based on a signal from the film defect inspecting monitoring part 7.
