PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system capable of displaying a perspective image screen nearer to actual photographing by adopting a map plotting method by perspective using a virtual horizontal line and a vanishing point on the horizontal line. SOLUTION: When drawing a straight line road f extending in the advancing direction of one's own car by the perspective on the basis of map data read out of a map database, a CPU 1 first draws the virtual horizontal line corresponding to the eye height of a driver in the central vicinity of a plotting plane (a drawing 3 (a)), and sets a road width both end coordinate point of the road f in a plotting plane lower end supposed as a present position of one's own car (a drawing 3 (b)). Next, the CPU 1 determines a coordinate point A (the vanishing point) corresponding to the sight line direction of the driver on the virtual horizontal line, and draws a straight line toward the coordinate point A from road width both end coordinates. |
