PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the drive device of a transmission that with the working speed at a shift finished position becoming insufficient, when the working speed of a fork shaft is decided with a shift neutral position as a standard and that driving force at the shift neutral position becoming insufficient, when the working speed of the fork shaft is decided with the shift finished position as a standard. SOLUTION: The drive includes a plural number of the fork shafts 10a-10c which are freely movable in the axial direction, between the shift neutral position and a pair of the shift finished positions, a shift and select shaft 15 to select one of the fork shafts by select operation, and to cause the fork shaft selected by the shift operation to move in the axial direction and drive means 25, 30, 35 to turn or move the shift and select shaft. The driving means have speed changing means 30, 35 for making the shift and select shaft turn and move at a first change gear ratio, when the fork shaft is at the shift neutral position and at a second change gear ratio to move it faster than at the first change gear ratio, when it is at the shift finished position.
