A bi-fold door assembly has a first door half mounted in a door frame by upper and lower hinges 26 for rotation about a first axis C and a second door half mounted for rotation about a second axis and also slidable along a track mounted to the door frame. Upper hinge 26 includes a spring loaded pivot pin that, by pivoting the door assembly about a fulcrum formed by the lower hinge 52, can be automatically engaged with a hole 40 in the upper hinge bearing block 38 fastened to the door frame. Ramps 44 on either side of hole 40 allow the pivot pin to be depressed as it is brought into engagement with hole 40. |
