PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focusing device or the like which can ensure focusing on a desired object even when the circumference is dark. SOLUTION: The focusing device is provided with focusing detecting means 18 and 19 for detecting the focused state of a subject, an auxiliary lighting means 20 for illuminating the subject at the time of the focusing detection by the focusing detecting means, an auxiliary light control means 19 which controls the auxiliary light means so as to start light emission prior to the focusing detection by the focus detecting means, or controls the auxiliary light means so as to continue the light emission after the focusing detection by the focus detecting means. |
