PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which suppresses the sense of incompatibility with video and prevents display video from giving a feeling of incompatibility, by controlling a partial lateral aspect ratio, i.e., a scaling ratio of a 'just' display of a display image and canceling the 'just' display. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device stores digital information in a memory circuit 104, performs magnification/reduction interpolation in time series, and performs lateral aspect conversion to make a 'just' display. A decision circuit 100 analyzes the vertical components and movements of the information stored in the memory circuit 104. With the output of the decision circuit 100, an image processing circuit 105 is controlled to make magnification/ reduction interpolation ratio in time series vary and makes the lateral aspect conversion, thereby making the 'just' display.
