PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save resources and to suppress the cost by effectively using a plane plate material to efficiently manufacture a frame even with respect to a matrix display device having a large screen size. SOLUTION: In the matrix display device, a signal line TCP 7 and a scanning line TCP 8 are arranged in peripheral edge parts of a square display panel 1 provided with a pixel 4 at each of intersections between a lot of signal lines 2 and scanning lines 3 and a square frame 9 covering a picture non-display area 6 of the display panel 1 and an outer peripheral surface connected to this area is arranged. A first channel-shaped frame 13 corresponding to the first side of the display panel 1, and a part of the second side adjacent to the first side, and a part of the fourth side of the display panel and a second channel-shaped frame 14 corresponding to the third side facing the first side of the display panel 1, the other part of the second side adjacent to the third side, and the other part of the fourth side are separately formed, and end parts of these first and second frames 13 and 14 are connected to each other to constitute the frame 9. Thus, the frame 9 is constituted without uselessly providing a corresponding area on the inside of a picture display frame 10.
