PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display both a width length which can be obtained from a number of characters and a printable upper limit length when the print length is changed during inputting of print data, and to determine whether the inputted print length is within a settable range or not and if it is outside of the range, then display both a width length which can be obtained from a number of characters and a printable upper limit length. SOLUTION: A length determination means determines whether the print length inputted after a input of a character is within the range of one page length obtained from a number of characters and upper limit of print length. When the result of determination of the length determination means is determined to be outside of the range, the one page length obtained from a number of characters and the upper limit print length are displayed.
