PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a catalyst unit in a muffler case by lessening the number of part items of a support member for the catalyst unit and to suppress the deformation or distortion of the catalyst unit by reducing the heat load thereof or of the support member due to thermal expansion or contraction in a muffler device with a catalyst which is connected to the exhaust system of a motorcycle engine. SOLUTION: This muffler device is composed such that the catalyst unit CU is housed in the muffler case 20 while having a space and is supported by a communication pipe 54 which is a functional component of a muffler for passing an exhaust gas therethrough and is fixed to a separator 28.
