PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem on the lowering of toner density occurring when the electrification amount of developer becomes low and/or the developer is deteriorated according to a method how a device is used. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with a toner density control means for detecting the reflected light quantity of a reference pattern after forming the reference pattern on an image carrier 11 and developing the pattern by a two-component developing device 15 and for using the detected result to control the toner density of two-component developer in the device 15, an arithmetic means for arithmetically calculating several pieces of information showing the circumstances of the image forming device, an a developing potential control means for switching the set value of developing potential at the time of developing the reference pattern in accordance with the arithmetical result calculated by the arithmetic means. |
