PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light distribution control system for a lighting device for a vehicle capable of securely avoiding that glare is given to an oncoming car and a preceding car and satisfactorily ensuring driver's visual field at all times by selecting a proper mode carefully during running of the vehicle. SOLUTION: A main control circuit of this light distribution control system for the lighting device for the vehicle measures the number N of feature points such as, for example, intersection in the vicinity of the vehicle (step 112) and determines light distribution of lamp groups at a high speed running mode on the condition that a running road of the vehicle is not in traffic congestion if the number N of the measured feature points is below a first predetermined number S1 and there is a median strip on the running road of the vehicle. Moreover, if the number N of the feature points is below the first predetermined number S1 and there is no median strip on the running road of the vehicle and the number N of the feature points is larger than the first predetermined number S1, light distribution of the lamp groups is determined at normal running mode or city area running mode for preventing glare from being given to the oncoming car when compared with the high speed running mode (step 114-126).
