PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens meter capable of measuring accurate refractive characteristics of spectacle lenses by making the distance between the lower faces of the spectacle lenses and light receiving means of photodetecting optical system constant with a simple constitution on respective optical axes for measurement in the photodetecting optical systems even when a pair of the optical systems for measuring the left and right lenses of the spectacles are set. SOLUTION: The lens meter is provided with a pair of left and right lens rests in which a pair of left and right lenses LL, LR of the spectacles 5 can be placed, and a pair of the left and right optical systems for measurement SL, SR which can measure the refractive characteristics of the spectacle lenses that are placed in the pair of the left and right lens rests. Lens receiving shaft 86, 86 (100L, 100R) are disposed in mid-way of the optical path of the optical system for measurement, respectively. These lens receiving shafts 86, 86 (100L, 100R) are provided with tip ends, respectivelly, which can support the left and right spectacle lenses LL, LR at one point.
