PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking lock releasing device capable of releasing a parking lock of a transmission, even if the control of transmission by a transmission control device for a vehicle is in a disabled state. SOLUTION: This parking lock releasing device 1 is provided with an ignition driving type cylinder 2 and a cylinder driving circuit 3 as a releasing means. A parking lock member 18 is fitted loosely into an oblong hole part 16a of a release ring 16, connected to the tip of a rod 13 of the ignition driving type cylinder 2. An ignition mechanism 15 of the ignition driving type cylinder 2 is driven, when the contact of a release switch 21 becomes a closed state, in a closed state of a contact of a permission switch 22 of the cylinder driving circuit 3. Therefore, the release ring 16 is moved in the direction of the arrow F1, when the ignition mechanism 15 is driven and the parking lock member 18 is moved to a releasing position (B position) by the release ring 16, even if the member 18 is located at a lock position (A position).
