PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder block for an internal combustion engine favourable in a warming-up property and capable of uniforming temperature of a bore wall in the bore hole peripheral direction and the bore hole height direction. SOLUTION: (1) This cylinder block for the internal combustion engine seals low melting point metal 3a a melting point of which is 130 deg.C to 170 deg.C in a closed cavity part 3 by providing the closed cavity part inside of the cylinder block 1 or in a cylinder liner 2 around a cylinder bore 1a. (2) The closed cavity part 3 is provided all over around the cylinder bore 1a.
