PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device for a valve timing adjusting device having a sub pump effectively arranged. SOLUTION: An intake side OCV 6 and an exhaust side OCV 7 are supplied with oil pressure from a main pump 20 and a sub pump 21. The sub pump 21 is independent of the driving force of an engine. For example, the oil pressure is supplied to the intake side CV 6 and the exhaust side CV 7 via sub piping 27 and main piping 23 by imparting pressure to the oil of a main gallery 22 driven with a driving medium 26 such as an electric motor. A control wire 30 applying OCV control current is arranged between an ECU 8 and the suction side OCV 6 and the discharge side OCV 7, and a control wire 31 branched from the control wire 30 is arranged between the ECU 8 and the driving medium 26 of the sub pump 21.
