PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping apparatus and a house dismantling machine enabling timbers such as beams or columns of a dismantled house to be separated while kept long without being broken into small pieces, thereby facilitating assortment of waste materials, and keeping the wastes unbulky during transportation, for reduction in the cost needed for dismantling. SOLUTION: Fork grapples 26 and 27 are attached to a bracket 20 attached to a working arm 9, in such a manner that the widths of the fork grapples at their ends are freely adjustable. A drive such as a hydraulic cylinder 31 for adjusting the widths of the ends is provided between the fork grapples 26 and 27. To clamp a long object such as a column, the widths of the fork grapples 26 and 27 at their ends are increased to dismantle the object without fragmenting it.
