PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation structure of a rod-shaped building material, which prevents a fall of the hollow ceramic rod-shaped building material with no backlash even if the building material is broken. SOLUTION: The rod-shaped building material 1 is held by a holding fitting 3 inserted into a through hole 2 thereof, so as to undergo installation and execution of work. The holding fitting 3 abuts on a top surface part of an inner surface of the through hole 2 so that the building material 1 can be installed in such a manner that a long side of a cross section points in an approximately horizontal direction. The top surface part of the inner surface of the through hole 2 is formed in a downward tapered shape, and a top surface part of the holding fitting 3 is formed in an upward tapered shape.
