Drive for a heald frame of a weaving machine

A weaving loom has a drive for a heald shaft with a two-part link to a pushrod. The heald shaft drive is an electric motor with a rotor and stator. The electric motor (4) rotor (4a) has especially an oscillating continual reverse action operation. Each rotor (4a) forms part of an external rotor motor with a swivel arm (4d). The swivel arm has an articulated link point (4c) located outside the motor axial-geometric centreline (8). The link point (4c) is coupled to a pushrod (6) acting on the heald shaft (1). The modular motors are positioned as convenient on a fixed axle (5). The drive for each heald shaft is an electrically controlled linear motor (11) with a reverse-action rotor (11a). The rotor (11a) swivels on the fixed axle (5). The motor is a direct current or alternating current sector motor. If the assembly may have more than one fixed axle (5) to accommodate a number of motors.
