PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column manufacturable at a low cost as an improvement of a conventional structure wherein an upper shaft and lower shaft are fixed by injection molding of resin. SOLUTION: In a condition that part of the hollow lower shaft 5b is inserted in the hollow upper shaft 5a as shown in Fig. 1 (a), a projection A is formed in the upper shaft 5a by giving a pressure by a punch 12 while a pair of overhung parts a are formed on the outside of the lower shaft 5b in the direction perpendicular to the projection A, and another projection B is formed only inside the upper shaft 5b by pressuring by a punch 13, and thereafter the lower shaft 5b is press-fitted to a position shown in Fig. 1 (b) so that a shaft 5 is completed. |
