PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely simplify the constitution of a rotary pres capable of replacing a printing plate without stopping the rotary press. SOLUTION: A plurality of two-cylinder or three-cylinder type printing units 1a-1d are provided with a plate cylinder 4 and an impression cylinder 6 opposed to each other or the plate cylinder 4, a blanket cylinder 5 and the impression cylinder 6 so as to transmit power from the plate cylinder to the impression cylinder. Further, the units are arranged in the running direction of printing paper 2, and a clutch 14 cutting off the transmission of power from the plate cylinder or the blanket cylinder to freely rotate the impression cylinder is provided to the input part of the impression cylinder of each printing unit. The plate cylinder or blanket cylinder opposed to the impression cylinder is supported so as to be separable with respect to the impression cylinder, and each of sectional motors 7a-7d capable of being controlled in rotational speed is connected to the plate cylinder to be provided to each printing unit. |
