PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for ink jet recording exhibiting sufficient fixing properties to a medium to be recorded, imparting fastness such as weather resistance, water resistance and the like to a recorded matter, realizing an excellent image almost free from bleeding and further having delivering stability enough to hardly cause clogging in a nozzle and the like. SOLUTION: The ink for ink jet recording is composed of at least a pigment, a polymer emulsion, a substance of general formula I: R<1> -Pm -(CH2 CH2 O)n -R<2> (wherein R<1> and R<2> are the same or different and are each a hydrophobic group; P is a urethane; m and n are each the average value of the recurring units in the whole system; the sequence of P and (CH2 CH2 O) is not limited so far as they are present in the molecule and can be present each in a block or at random) and water. |
