VINYLIC COPOLYMER EMULSION AND COATING ADDITIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vinylic copolymer emulsion with good stability which can produce a coating film having excellent repellency and water resistance and to provide a coating additive comprising the emulsion which is excellent in the compatibility for a coating composition. SOLUTION: The emulsion is obtained by subjecting a component to emulsion polymerization which comprises (A) a vinylic monomer (50-99.9 wt.%), (B) a branched organosilicon compound having a radical polymerizable organic group represented by the formula (1) (0.1-50 wt.%)(the total of (A) component and (B) component is 100 wt.%) and (C) a radical polymerizable surfactant (0.1-20 pts.wt. base on the total 100 pts.wt. of (A) component and (B) component). The additive comprises the emulsion.
