PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the corrosion resistance for a long period, and the improvement in heat eliminating performance by heat radiation at gap parts by applying flame coating of metal, metal oxide, or metal carbide to the surface of an inner component member of a radioactive substance containing container. SOLUTION: In this container for containing radioactive substance, a spray coating treatment 16 such as spray coating of metal, metal oxide, or metal carbide is applied to member surfaces facing the gap part 6 between the radioactive substance (solidified glass 7) and a basket 5, and the gap part 6 between the basket 5 and an inner cylinder 1. Corrosion resistance for a long period and improvement to heat eliminating performance by heat radiation are thus improved, and generation of a local high temperature part is restricted. Since corrosion resistance for a long period and improvement to heat eliminating performance by heat radiation can be maintained, temperature rise at a gap part can be reduced, thereby containing quantity can be increased.
