METHOD OF DISCRIMINATING GLUTINOUS RICE FROM NONGLUTINOUS RICE IN PROCESSED RICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To analyze structure in an inside of a rice grain to detect a glutinous rice contaminated into a processed rice, by irradiating the processed rice with visible rays to be transmitted. SOLUTION: (1) A ratio of the glutinous rice 1 to the nonglutinous rice 2 in the processed rice 1 is measured nondestructively by irradiating the processed rice 1 with the visuble rays to be transmitted, and by measuring a cavity 4 in the rice 1. (2) The processed rice is irradiated with a uniformized ray of a white fluorescent lamp used as a light source of the visible rays. The inner structure of the processed rice is analyzed only by transmitting the visible rays through the boiled rice, so as to allow the descrimination of the glutinous rice 1 from the nonglutinous rice 2. The descrimination of the glutinous rice 1 from the nonglutinous rice 2 is allowed in the rice grain based on a result therein, and the method of the present invention is used conveniently anywhere since the method requires no deleterious substance (iodine) and no exclusive machine such as a tensipressor, and since the light source is easily available anywhere.
