PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pencil which has an originality as a goods and is capable of certainly enhancing the value of a goods as well as a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: This pencil 1 has a lead 2 built in the center and a pencil barrel 13a whose sectional shape is circular, with a recessed groove 3a extending, in the circumferential direction, on the outer peripheral face of the pencil barrel 13a. This recessed groove 3a is arranged at least in a part of the axial direction of the pencil barrel 13a.
