PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To softly, thinly, and widely scatter sediment on the water bottom from a tip side outlet of a transfer pipe in a sediment scattering ship having a hopper mounted on a hull, and the transfer pipe for discharging the sediment falling from this hopper to the water bottom from the tip side outlet by receiving the sediment from a base end side inlet. SOLUTION: The transfer pipe P is supported so that the base end part can rock around the horizontal axis L1 in the hull 1. A driving means Dp capable of forcedly rocking the transfer pipe P to an optional rocking position is interposed between the transfer pipe P and the hull 1. A tip part of the transfer pipe P forms a fan-shaped expansively widened part 7 having a passage cross section gradually laterally expanding in the direction for running along the horizontal axis L1 toward the outlet Po. The inside of this expansively widened part 7 is provided with a guide wall 8 for almost equally distributing the sediment flowing down in the transfer pipe P from the upstream side to the outlet Po side.
