PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for a widened road capable of avoiding traffic interruption when constructing the widened road. SOLUTION: In this construction method for the widened road, the widened road 1C is constructed along an existing road 1A through a boundary join part 1B on the valley side of the existing road 1A constructed already on the inclined ground. This method comprises a process in which a causeway main body 20 consisting of piles 3, a beam 6, a covering receive beam 12, and a covering plate 13 is constructed by a launching construction method while ensuring traffic of the existing road 1A on the valley side of the existing road 1A, a process in which road traffic is switched to the causeway main body 20 from the existing road 1A to construct the boundary join part 1B after the construction of the causeway main body 20 is completed, and a process in which road traffic is switched to the existing road 1A from the causeway main body 20 after the boundary join part 1B is constructed, the covering plate 12 and the covering receive beam 13 are removed to construct a floor slab 7 on the beam 6, and pavement 8 is performed on the floor slab 7 to construct the widened road 1C.
